Perched on the east bank of the Stones River north of the bridge, with a commanding view of the river and Clover Bottom is a picturesque old four story log cottage. Fitting naturally into the woodland setting, it could very well been part the landscape back in the days of Andrew Jackson and from its secluded spot could have watched the horse racing, boat building and other activities going on in Clover Bottom. Today it is almost hidden the midst of trees and bushes and can be seen only faintly by keen eyed travelers on Lebanon Road. This log house was reconstructed in the 1930's by the Cantrell family who moved the old logs from Wilson County. Mrs. Cantrell felt that in this quiet natural beauty place she "ever had a song in her heart" and appropriately called the cottage "Eversong". On the river side, Eversong rises four stories and on up the hill where it faces Stones River Road, it has two stories. The foundation is of stone. Stone steps lead down from the road to the first two stories and on down to the river where the Cantrells enjoyed boating and bathing. Porches are on three levels on the river side. Today the old lodge is haven for artists with their palettes and continues to bring "ever a song to the heart".
